COMMISSION SEATS OPEN FOR 2016 ELECTION

The City of Cocoa Beach will be holding a general election on November 8, 2016. Three Commission Seats are up for election.  The term of each office is four years.

  • Commissioner Seat #3

QUALIFYING PERIOD, PROCESS AND FEES

The Qualifying Period:  Noon to Noon, August 22 - 26, 2016

​To qualify to run for Office and appear on the November 8, 2016 ballot: 

 ​Complete the Qualifying Forms.  Submit forms and qualifying fees to the City Clerk (2 South Orlando Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida) during the Qualifying Period.

​​​Fees required to qualify (Florida Statutes 99.092)

  • Filing Fee - 3% of annual salary - $180
  • Election Assessment - 1% of annual salary - $60

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

An applicant must be:
​◦  a resident of the City
​◦  a registered voter
​◦  have continuously resided in the city for 1 year, immediately prior to filing for a seat.
