4 Brevard County locations designated for free sandbag distribution.

7/31/20

In anticipation of Hurricane Isaias, four locations throughout the county will be used for sandbag distribution from 5-10 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1. The distribution locations are:

* Eastern Florida State College, Palm Bay campus, 250 Community College Parkway SE. * Calvary Chapel, Melbourne, Viera campus, 2852 Fellowship Place.
* Mitchell Ellington Park, 575 West Hall Road, Merritt Island.
* Chain of Lakes Park, 2300 Truman Scarborough Way, Titusville.

The free sandbag distribution was coordinated between Brevard County Public Works and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office will have supervised inmates filling and loading sandbags for residents. There is a 10-bag limit per vehicle. The sand and bags are provided by Brevard County Public Works. Sand will not be available today until 5 p.m., so early arrival is discouraged.
