Cedar Avenue Update

Cedar Avenue Update

The sewer tie-in at Minutemen Causeway and Cedar Avenue was completed today and the contractors are cleaning up the area.

Crews have begun prepping sidewalk and curb repair.  Concrete is scheduled to be poured mid-week.

Contractors will now focus their attention at the intersection of Cocoa Isles Blvd. & Catalina. This coming Wednesday they will be completing the pipe tie-in of the new 12 inch pipe into the existing 10 inch pipe. Reclaimed water will be turned off City wide for this to occur.   We hope to have the system back up and running by late Wednesday afternoon.

The road grading crew went quicker than anticipated and there will be a lag between now and when asphalt will arrive.  There is still some grading and prep work to be accomplished but the anticipated road restoration from Minutemen to Cocoa Isles Blvd has a tentative start date in early November.  We apologize for the inconvenience from now until then and ask for patience as a well needed newly paved road is coming soon.

Next week, contractors will still be working near the intersection of Cocoa Isles and Catalina, as well as various side streets from 4th Street North to Cocoa Isles Blvd.

We kindly appreciate everyone’s patience with the project.  On paper, the project is 60% complete with expected completion at the end of January 2022, however staff feels this percentage is much further along and could be completed before years end.
