COMMENTS: (2/23/2010) I will be arriving at port Canaveral on a cruise this coming December 1, 2010, and would like to spend the day at Cocoa beach does the beach offer chair rental, how far is the public pool, and which beach is the best when traveling with 13 years old children.

EDITOR'S RESPONSE: We recommend ocean swimming where lifeguards are present. Shepard Park (named after Astronaut Alan Shepard) has lifeguards and beach rentals. The heated outdoor pool is about 3 miles away.

COMMENTS: (12/17/2009) I visited Cocoa beach for the first time in augsut of this year for a portion of my honeymoon-we went on a cruise that left from cape Canaveral. It was amazing at how laid back and comfortable this community really was. You never felt like a 'tourist'. Ever. It was great. We were there for about a week and I could spend days telling you all the wonderful things about this place! Thank you Cocoa Beach to giving me a great honeymoon! I cannot wait until my next visit. :)

COMMENTS: (11/18/2009) I'm coming to Kissimmee to get married but I thought let's do it on the beach... Is there a permit to get married on the beach or can we just come with the Pastor and get hitched...

EDITOR'S RESPONSE: A permit is not required provided that the wedding does not include structures (tents) or electric power and that the event complies with other beach regulations. Depending on the time of the year (March 1 to October 31 is turtle nesting season) there may be other restrictions.
