1:00 PM. This documentary was produced in 2005 for the City’s 80th anniversary by Jim Lasley of Lone Pine Productions.

  “We Are - Women of Courage” – An Amazing Tribute to Important Women in
History with the Brevard Theatrical Ensemble, Sunday, March 5th at 2:00 PM.
This suffragette program will make you appreciate the women you experience
today and the privileges taken for granted because of these extraordinary
and forward thinking liberators of yesteryear. (March is Women’s History
Month.)

  Trunk Show Quilting with Gene Ives, Tuesday, March 7th at 7:00 PM. A Master
Quilter from Sea Side Piece Makers, will bring a variety of quilts and discuss how they were made and the inspiration that made them unique.

  Figure Sketching with Bette Greene, Wednesdays, 1:00-2:30 PM, March 8th
through April 5th. Cost is $30.00 for the 5 week course.
A History of Our Area – Cocoa Beach, with historian and writer Ray Osborne, Wednesday, March 8th at 7:00 PM. Join us for some tales about the early days of our area, as told by Cocoa Beach natives and old timers. (243-8097)

2006 Walk to Cure Diabetes. Walk registration begins at 8 am on March 11 with the Walk beginning at 9:30 am . The Walk Route will be on the beach heading north from Lori Wilson Park to Shepard Park and Back. Light breakfast and lunch are served no charge.   Music on a Sunday Afternoon presents Harold Arlen “Blues in the Night” with Marty Rosenberg on piano, Sunday, March 19th at 2:00 PM. Marty will discuss the career of Harold Arlen and play some of his greatest hits, such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Stormy Weather and I’ve Got the World on a String. Arlen is best known for composing the music for the Wizard of Oz.
Refreshments will be served.

People in Print presents suspense writer Marshall Frank on Tuesday, March 21st at 7:00 PM. Frank, a retired Captain from Metro-Dade Police Department, spent the majority of his years investigating murders or commanding those who did. He will discuss and sign his newest book The Latent.

  PUBLIC INFORMATION NOTICE

BREVARD LIBRARY FOUNDATION FAMILY READING FESTIVAL AUTHOR RECEPTION TO BE HELD AT COCOA CIVIC CENTER

The Brevard Library Foundation is hosting an author reception at the Cocoa Civic Center on Friday, Friday, March 24 from 6:30-8:30 PM; cost is $25.00 and includes heavy hors d’ouevres, wine and beer. Tickets are available at your local library, or at the door. This is a great opportunity to meet the authors who will be featured at the first Family Reading Festival on Saturday, March 25th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Adult authors of note are Ben Bova, S.V. Date, Christine Negroni and Lorna Landvik. Children’s authors include Phil Bildner, Kevin Lewis, Audra Supplee, and Dan Yaccarino

Wednesday, March 29th at 6:30 PM. Try to stump Linda, founder of Brevard Antiques & Collectibles, and the audience with unusual or unidentified objects. You may also bring less unusual antiques or collectibles for identification. No appraisals will be given.
