| People in Print presents Daina Gold, author of Encouragement for the Bipolar Soul, Wednesday, November 1st at 7:00 PM. Gold, a business relations coach in Cape Canaveral, will discuss her new e-book, which depicts her battle with bipolar disorder. She will share her story of overcoming the disorder in hopes that her book will help anyone impacted by this disorder, so that they, too, can get their lives back and once again use their gifts and talents. Gold will offer her first two chapters free as a sample to those interested. She plans to publish her book in hard copy in the future. |

Orlando Avenue 7:00 P.M. | CITIZENS ACTION COMMITTEE WILL HOST FORUM ON THE “NO SMOKING ON COCOA BEACH” REFERENDUM AT COCOA BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY The beach “No Smoking” referendum is turning into a “red hot” issue. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions from the proponents of both positions after the presentations. Also, Mike Myjak of “Save Brevard” will address several referendums on the State ballot. The public is invited. |

Original Highwayman R.L. Lewis will demonstrate his painting technique and discuss Highwaymen art on Wednesday, November 29th at 6:30 PM. The Highwaymen were an assemblage of self-taught African American artists who sold their vivid and dynamic painting at roadside stands and from the trunks of their cars from the 1950’s through the 80’s. What the Highwaymen once sold for $5-25, are now commanding gallery prices. 2007 Highwaymen calendars will be available for purchase, just in time for the holidays. Proceeds from calendar sales will be donated to the library by the artist. |

| Ongoing Programs | Ongoing: T’ai Chi Chu’an with John Lang A.P., Wednesdays at 9:00 AM, through November 29th. Cost is $5.00. Wear comfortable clothing and flat soled shoes. Book Discussion Groups meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 AM and 7:30 PM. On Nov. 8th, the morning group will discuss A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, the evening group has not yet made its selection. Playreaders Group meets every third Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Captain’s Room. Everyone who attends has a script and is encouraged to participate. Newcomers are always welcome. Call Barbara Clark for details at 455-2352. A Watercolor Group will meet on Thursdays from 1:00-4:00 in the Captain’s Room. This is a social, non-instructive painting group which is open to anyone with an interest in watercolors. All levels of skill are welcome. Cocoa Beach Writers Workshops are held Thursdays at 10:00 AM in the Captain’s Room. This round table discussion group gives authors the opportunity to have their works read and critiqued by fellow writers. Anyone interested in the craft of writing is welcome.
