Derek Redwine, a fishing enthusiast and talented artist, will have an art showing tonight at Rusty's Seafood & Oyster Bar at the Port from 8pm - Midnight. There'll be live music, a wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres. Derek's knowledge of his subjects come from from his love of the water and the land that surrounds it and shows in the pieces he creates. The Beachside Resident's article on Derek last month described his work as ".... each of his gilled subjects is simultaneously individualistic and representative of their class. What's more, they're not the cookie-cutter images of fish you're used to seeing. By his own admission, the self-taught Redwine takes pains to obscure his images with layers of color and shadow, giving them added depth of movement." It's amazing the level of talent that lives here in Cocoa Beach. The artist would appreciate the support of the community so, grab a friend and please come out tonight to enjoy Derek Redwine's Art Show. |
