MEDITATION TIME WITH SALLY HART

AT COCOA BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY

Sally Hart, author of Who’s Talking, will host Meditation Time on Tuesdays, June 3, 10, 17 & 24 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Cocoa Beach Public Library, in the Jane von Thron Room. Cost is $5.00 per session plus cost of materials. The former Lawrence Welk star will show you how you can use your family history to change your life for the better. Learn to:Use guided meditations;

• Design your own blessing beads to help you ‘focus’;
• Create a 2008 personal ‘Treasure Map’ booklet;
• Release all old perceptions and habits that are holding you back from what you desire to be.

1968: The Year that Everything Changed with Tom Brokaw, Wednesday, June 4th at 1:00 PM. Bring a Brown Bag Lunch and watch this History Channel documentary which commemorates the revolutionary events of this pivotal year – the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, the Civil Rights Movement, Richard Nixon elected President, Vietnam, men in lunar orbit. From music to politics to issues of feminism, race and war, 1968 left almost no facet of American life unchanged.

Pilates with Cory Huggins, Wednesdays at 9:00 AM, June 4 – August 20. Cost is $5.00 per session. Pilates is a series of stretching and strengthening exercises, which integrate the whole body and mind, which can result in the benefits of strengthened and toned muscles, as well as improved posture, flexibility and balance. Cory has taught Pilates for 3 years and group fitness for 5. Bring a mat and a water bottle. Participants should be in good health.

Season Finale for Music on a Sunday Afternoon, Sunday, June 8th at 2:00 PM, will feature a Christmas in June Sing-a-Long with Amy Lucey. Celebrate the halfway to Christmas mark by wearing a Santa hat or festive gear. Award winning singer-songwriter Sharon Osuna will kick off the event with 2 original songs, Florida Christmas and Santa Drives an Airboat Here.

New Orleans Jazz Sing-Along with Betty, Thursday, June 19 at 2:00 PM. Betty Yaroch will play popular New Orleans Jazz on her keyboard and provide song sheets for a rollicking sing-a-long.

HEARTSAVER CPR TRAINING AT COCOA BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY Two Heartsaver CPR Courses presented by HealthFirst will be held at Cocoa Beach Public Library on Saturday, June 21st at 10:00 AM or 1:00 PM, sponsored by “Sea of Dreams”. To register for either course, please call Kerry at 799-5499 or Randy at 243-8850 or go to seaofdreams@live.com. These courses are free to the public, but donations to Sea of Dreams will be accepted. Sea of Dreams is an organization dedicated to raise awareness and funding for more lifeguards and newer and better equipped lifeguard stations on Cocoa Beach.The course includes:

• CPR, Stroke and Heart Attack Recognition, Choking and AED (automated external defibrillator) training conducted by American Heart Association approved/certified instructors;
• Handout materials;
• Course Completion  Certification Cards issued to each attendee (valid for 2 year period),
• Course length approx. 2.5-3.0 hours.
