People in Print presents best selling author Randy Wayne White, who will discuss, sign and sell his newest “Doc Ford” novel, Dead Silence, on Friday, March 27th at 7:00 PM at Cocoa Beach Public Library. Randy Wayne White’s novels have always won praise for their remarkable imagination, intrigue, and some of the best characters in suspense fiction. Nothing, however, will prepare his readers for the extraordinary chilling events of Dead Silence. Copies will be available for $25.95. Randy Wayne White is a fiction writer and journalist based in Southwest Florida, and his concerns in novels and nonfiction alike are ecology, adventure, and the pursuit of unconventional activities. As a fiction writer, White is best known for a sleuth named Doc Ford, an ex-CIA spook turned wildlife biologist who cannot keep clear of trouble. White’s novels feature straight-ahead, leather-tough realism akin to John D. MacDonald’s “Travis McGee” series. The books also take issue with the exploitation of the environment, a theme common to Florida writers of all types. White’s nonfiction books include his best writing from Outside magazine, for which he completed many bizarre assignments. Some of them are written with tongue-in cheek humor, while others have a more serious purpose and scope. The author is the recipient of the Conch Republic Prize for Literature and the John D. MacDonald Award for Literary Excellence. |
