Watercolor Classes with award winning watercolor artist Helen Wheatley, Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – noon, January 12th March 2nd . Suitable for beginning and intermediate students. Health Nutrition and Weight Loss with Charlie Mora, Tuesday, January 12 at 2:00 PM in the Jane von Thron Room. A series of classes on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. In simple terms, Charlie tells you – no matter what your age, economic status, gender or education level- what foods you should eat to stay young, fit and trim; how to make the connection that what we eat and do determines what we are and what we can be. Bring a notebook. Professional Medium John Rogers will give brief individual readings, as time allows, and discuss spirit guides and spirituality, Tuesday, January 12th, 6:30-7:45 PM. |

People in Print presents The Easy Way to Feng Shui with author, lecturer and feng shui consultant Karline Samuels-McIntosh, Thursday, January 14th at 1:00 PM. This lecture will introduce Feng Shui in a simple format that outlines the seven step process that anyone can use to achieve success with this ancient philosophy. Karline will also explain briefly, three Core principles that are essential to the practice of Feng Shui. The Yin Yang Theory, the Five elements and the Power of Intention. This will be an interactive experience where participants will take a virtual tour of their living space and discuss what they can do to achieve good Feng Shui. So is Susan Hubbard, Professor of English at UCF and author of 7 books, including The Society of S and the Year of Disappearances, both published by Simon & Schuster. Hubbard’s brightly macabre novels combine the creepiness of Stephen King with acute social commentary. Copies will be available for $14.00. Music on a Sunday Afternoon presents The Brevard Early Music Ensemble, Sunday, January 17th at 2:00 PM with medieval and renaissance music played on authentic instruments of the time by fully costumed musicians. The Ensemble, which comes under the umbrella of the Brevard Theatrical Ensemble, will play 13th and 14th century instruments such as the tambor, lute, recorder and the bowed psaltery. If you’ve never heard a crumhorn or a zink, you’re in for a real treat. Join us for a real “blast from the past”. You’ve never heard anything like it.

Morgana Starr, author, spiritual advisor, ordained minister, Psychic/Medium, empowerment coach, national lecturer and teacher and facilitator of Archangel Anael’s Angel Empowerment Workshop, who will discuss Discovering Love and Unity through Angelic Messages. She will be giving individual messages from the Angels, as well as channeling messages from Archangel Anael, Archangel of Love, Forgiveness and Unity. People in Print presents Sketches in My Garden by Donna Lee Bowers, Tuesday, January 19th at 2:00 PM in the Jane von Thron Room. Written over many years of gardening in several states, Donna Bowers has found that flowers encouraged her to paint and teach in watercolor. She has incorporated her garden watercolors into a delightful book showcasing her talent as both a writer and artist. She was a founding member of the Brevard County Watercolor Society, a member of the Transparent Watercolor Society, and a watercolor instructor at the library for several years. She has written two novels and several children’s books. Copies will be available in hardcover for $28.00 and softcover for $24.00. |

People in Print presents The Universe: Order without Design by NASA Physicist Carlos Calle, Wednesday, January 20th at 1:00 PM. Calle tackles the question of whether the universe required a supernatural designer or whether cosmological theories can explain the wondrous reality around us. NASA senior research scientist, Carlos Calle, explores theories from the big bang to the possibility of a big crunch and renders the complexities of theoretical physics beautifully lucid for the lay reader. Calle is also a talented sculpture, and will bring samples of his work. Copies of The Universe will be available at a discounted rate of $18.00. The First Principles : A Scientist’s Guide to the Spiritual with John Petrovic, Wednesday, January 27th at 1:00 PM. Author Petrovic is a scientific consultant and retired fellow of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He obtained his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D degrees in materials sciences from Case Western. Healthy Planet of Brevard presents Dr. Michael Greger who will speak about the Latest in Health News, Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 PM. Michael Greger, M.D., is a physician, author, and internationally recognized professional speaker on a number of important public health issues. Dr. Greger has lectured at the Conference on World Affairs, the National Institutes of Health, and the International Bird Flu Summit, among countless other symposia and institutions, and was invited as an expert witness in defense of Oprah Winfrey at the infamous "meat defamation" trial. Currently Dr. Greger proudly serves as the Director of Public Health and Animal Agriculture at the Humane Society of the United States. Music on a Sunday Afternoon presents Florida troubadour Chris Kahl, who will give a musical tribute to Florida on Sunday, January 31st at 2:00 PM. Kahl writes and sings his own songs about the history and uniqueness of the state, taking honors in 2007’s Best New Florida Song Contest held during the annual Will McLean Festival. His music chronicles much of Florida’s history, including the space program, hurricanes, Henry Flagler’s East Coast Railroad and Ponce de Leon’s discovery of the state in 1513. |

| Ongoing Programs | Pilates with Cory Huggins, Mondays at 10:00 AM, January 4 through May 24. Cost is $5.00 per session. Pilates is a series of stretching and strengthening exercises, which integrate the whole body and mind, which can result in the benefits of strengthened and toned muscles, as well as improved posture, flexibility and balance. Bring a mat and a water bottle. Participants should be in good health.
