Turtle Lovers, Tuesday, June 1st at 6:00 PM. Paula Bernston, Beach Programs Assistant at the Brevard County Natural resources Management Office, will be giving a talk on our local sea turtles. Turtle-friendly bulbs will be handed out to authorized beach property owners. The event is sponsored by the Cocoa Beach Surfriders Foundation.

Benefits of Senior Exercise with Polly Helm, Wednesday, June 2nd at 1:00 PM. Polly will discuss the benefits of senior exercise. Come and try out a Senior Fitness Class and learn something about “Silver Sneakers”. Bring a towel, water and light handweights.

Legacy Junior Lifeguard Program - June 7-July 23 from 8:30am-12:00pm at the Cocoa Beach Pier.
The Legacy Junior Lifeguard Program offers water safety, lifeguarding, CPR certification, Junior Lifeguard event training, and much more.

The six week session is $375 and each team member will receive Nike gear sponsored by Long Doggers.

Legacy Sports and Life Skills  is a non-profit organization whose goal is to help youth, including those with special needs, find what they love to do and use their talents to contribute to society.

Compositional Photography with Mick West, Tuesdays, June 8, 15, 22, 29 at 6:30 PM in the Jane von Thron Room. Cost is $5.00 per session. A four session class that will provide basic compositional elements and framing to assist the student in capturing interesting, dynamic images with a digital camera. What is the difference between a photograph and a snapshot?   Basically, a snapshot is just point, shoot, and hope for the best.  That’s why most snapshots are similar in appearance.  A photograph requires thought, purpose, and an understanding of the interrelationships of positive and negative shapes, lines, perspective, color and contrast, to create a unique composition in the camera’s viewfinder. Prerequisites: A desire to take more interesting photographs, a digital camera and the ability to transfer digital images from a computer to a CD or thumb drive.   You’ll Get Swamped! Across the Atlantic in a Flats Boat with Bob Brown, Wednesday, June 9th at 1:00 PM. They said it could not be done; taking a small fishing boat across the whole Atlantic, without a cabin for protection and a keel to reright if a wave capsized them. Two brothers, Ralph and Bob Brown, crossed the Atlantic in a tiny shallow water fishing boat to raise money for Wounded Heroes Foundation in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Bob will show a powerpoint presentation of the voyage – facing  icebergs, fog…you name it!

Legacy Sports Surfing Academy - daily or weekly lessons, June 14- July 23 from 8:30am-12:30pm at the Cocoa Beach Hilton.
All surfers ages 6 to 17 are welcome to attend.  In addition to surfing, the Legacy Surfing Academy offers yoga, core training, CPR certification, ocean safety and safe surfing, and marine education.

Out of the Box: Domestic Violence, trauma, abuse, control, addiction, depression, with Judy Brinkley, who is a minister, speaker and author., Tuesdays, June 15th & 22nd from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Judy will speak about how she got out of the box of domestic violence. She will discuss her healing process through empowerment and emotional and spiritual healing.

A spectacular award winning portrayal of the negative and positive effects humans have had on the aquifers, springs, streams, rivers, wetlands and oceans that comprise over 2/3rds of our planet. A team of diver/scientists explores Florida’s St. John’s River, from its source and along its tributaries until it empties into the Atlantic. Bring a sack lunch. Cookies and punch will be served.
