Compositional Photography with Mick West, Tuesdays, June 8, 15, 22, 29 at 6:30 PM in the Jane von Thron Room. Cost is $5.00 per session. A four session class that will provide basic compositional elements and framing to assist the student in capturing interesting, dynamic images with a digital camera. What is the difference between a photograph and a snapshot? Basically, a snapshot is just point, shoot, and hope for the best. That’s why most snapshots are similar in appearance. A photograph requires thought, purpose, and an understanding of the interrelationships of positive and negative shapes, lines, perspective, color and contrast, to create a unique composition in the camera’s viewfinder. Prerequisites: A desire to take more interesting photographs, a digital camera and the ability to transfer digital images from a computer to a CD or thumb drive. To see Mick’s work, go to his website http:my.photoshelter.com/mickwest. Please register at sign up table. |
