  Trained AARP volunteers will be on hand weekdays to offer tax preparation assistance until April 15th. Hours will be Monday, Thursday, and Firday, 10:00AM - 2:00 PM and Tuesday and Wednesdays, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Inshore and Backcountry Fishing with Capt. Shawn Foster, Tuesday, March 2nd at 6:00 PM. Capt. Foster, is a U.S. Coast Guard Approved Captain. Learn about tackle, lures and techniques from this professional fishing guide. Shawn, a classical and jazz guitar player, is locally known as the “Fishin’ Musician”.

Stress Relief Angel Style, Presented by Reverend Morgana Starr, Wednesday, March 3rd at 1:00 PM. Brief explanation of angels and why they are here. Techniques to help you give your worries and stress to the Angels.  Short Angelic messages to some members of the group. Morgana is a Reiki Master, author, spiritual advisor, ordained minister,  psychic medium and facilitator of Archangel Anael.

Elderhostel Presentation with Jean Crowley, Thursday, March 4th at 1:00 PM. Jean will show DVDs of Elderhostel adventures – Kayaking the Colorado, Hiking in Wyoming and Ghost Towns of Montana.

  Ikebana with Betty Allison, Fridays, March 5, 12, 19, April 2, 9, 16 from 1:00-3:00 PM.  Cost for the 6 week course is $40.00, which includes fresh flowers. Needle point holders will be available for $7.00, as will plastic oriental containers for $4.00. Ikebana is the art of arranging flowers and branches in a three dimensional design emphasizing beauty and simplicity. It evolved in Japan over seven centuries. LORI WILSON PARK TO BE CLOSED ON MARCH 13th for

                            "COCOA BEACH WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL"
Cocoa Beach
~ Lori Wilson Park will be closed on Saturday, March 13th to make room for  the upcoming "Cocoa Beach Wine & Food Festival".    The featured entertainment will be the ever-popular band-group  "Three Dog Night".   Numerous local area restaurants will be showcasing their specialty cuisines which can be complemented by a glass of wine, also available for purchase during the fest.

Note for dog owners:  The Brevard County "Dog Park" will be closed all day on March 13th.

Interpretative Canoe Trip to Thousand Islands Scheduled COCOA BEACH, Fla. -- The Merritt Island/Beaches Area of Brevard County Parks and Recreation will host an interpretive canoe trip to the Thousand Islands on Friday, March 19th. A knowledgeable guide will paddle along with participants while pointing out Florida's native flora and fauna and discussing some of the history and importance of the Thousand Islands. Tours will launch from Ramp Road Park in Cocoa Beach at 9:30 a.m. and return around 11:30 a.m.   The cost to attend is $10 and pre-registration is required. Legacy Sports and Life Skills Lifeguard Launch
Saturday, March 27, 8:30am-12:00pm - Cocoa Beach Hilton Oceanfront, Brevard County’s First Annual Junior Lifeguard Try-Outs . Try-outs for the lifeguard program will be held Saturday, March 27, at the Cocoa Beach Hilton. All girls and boys 9 to 18 are welcome to participate. Florida author Tom Lowe, whose writing style has been compared to John D, MacDonald, will have a book signing on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:00 PM. He will introduce his second mystery, The 24th Letter, featuring retired investigator Sean O’Brien. When Father John Callahan hears the confession of a frightened prison inmate, he learns that a man facing lethal injection is innocent. The lead investigator on the case, his friend Sean O’Brien, is still haunted by the case. The 24th letter in the Greek alphabet—Omega—may provide the key to uncovering the killer’s identity.
