Health, Nutrition and Weight Loss with Charlie Mora, Tuesday, September 14th at 2:00 PM in the Jane von Thron Room. In simple terms, Charlie tells you what foods you should eat to stay young, fit and trim; how to make the connection that what we eat and do determines what we are and what we can be. The course will cover hydration/dehydration; how the body burns fat; the American diet; insulin control; food ratios; nutrition factors; supplements; exercise, duration vs. intensity. Bring a notebook. This class meets every 2nd Tuesday if the month.

Stress: The Causes and Cures, with Dr. Marco di Bonaventura, Ph.D, O.M.D., Wednesday, September 15th  at 1:00 PM. This is an informative, practical workshop to give you things you can do at home to improve your health. This lecture allows participants to discover how stress affects the body and the simple things they can to at home or work to reduce the negative effects of stress. Presented by the Foundation for Wellness Professionals, a National Non-Profit Organization Sponsoring Programs to Prevent Injury, Disease and Improve Health.  Register at Sign-Up Table.

Fraud and Personal Safety for Seniors with Officer Christen McClure, CBPD, Thursday, September 16th at 1:00 PM. This presentation describes the different types of frauds and how they work. It also identifies ways to prevent becoming a victim of a con artist.

Ikebana is the art of arranging flowers and branches in a three dimensional design emphasizing beauty and simplicity. It evolved in Japan over seven centuries.   Stormwater 101 with Elizabeth Melvin, Thursday, September 30th at 1:00 PM. “Let only rain down the storm drain!” Elizabeth Melvin of the Brevard County Natural Resources Management Office will outline actions residents can take to minimize stormwater pollution. She will provide an overview of how stormwater pollution affects water quality, what the water quality standards are required by the Clean Water Act for the Indian River Lagoon and what local governments are doing to improve water quality in the lagoon and the St. Johns River.
