They accomplished this in a time when there were no sophisticated electronics of any kind: no GPS, no cell phone, no laptops, etc.  They navigated using celestial navigation using a sextant and communicated with friends and family using a ham radio.  This voyage took the Kenastons from Seattle to Cocoa, across three oceans, with stops in California, Mexico, French Polynesia (Tahiti), New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia (Bali), South Africa and the Caribbean and Bahamas. Spending months in various ports, they got to know the land and the people in the places they visited and the stories of these Ports of Call are entertaining and enlightening.
