The novel, set in 1775, tells the story of a young wife and her family as the “shot heard around the world” rang out at Lexington. It entails the beginning of a war that was necessary, and everyone knew that sacrifices would have to be made to ensure the future of a brand new country. Joe Cordaro will discuss another novel of historical fiction. The Cost of Courage is the story of one family's struggle with the psychological after affects of war upon the husband and father, Commander Charles Courtland, who returns from WWI. Later it will be his son, Brent who will be exposed to the horrors of WWII while carrying out the most secret mission of that war. The entire story is woven around the historical facts of a remarkable time. Copies will be available for $14.00. Joseph Cordaro, a New York native, served in the U.S. Navy, and afterwards was a professional aviator for 37 years. During that time Cordaro had many occasions to fly to the United Kingdom, where he was inspired to write this story of the Royal Navy, and how one family faced the hardship of two great global conflicts. |
