Public Parking
As a destination for visitors from the mainland, the City of Cocoa Beach
shares its beaches with millions of visitors each year. Visitors
contribute to our vibrant local economy. Over 40 beachfront parking areas are provided and maintained, in addition to a number
of beachfront parks. The City recoups part of the cost of providing public services (including beach clean-up, maintenance and replacement of dune crossovers) and
responding to public safety calls (police and emergency rescue)
through parking revenues. Most beach-end parking areas are metered.
Rates of Parking Meters: The cost of parking or standing a vehicle in a parking metered space, located in the parking zone, is one dollar ($1.50) per hour, except for the zone including First Street South to Fifteen Street South which is two dollars ($2.00).
Metered Parking is enforced twenty four (24) hours a day, including Sundays and Holidays.
Rates for Parks: Shepard and
Fischer Parks, which in addition to parking also provide restrooms and showers,
charge a daily parking fee. The parking fees for Shepard Park shall be $7.00, except for: weekends and holidays from March 1 to the first day after Labor Day, in which the parking fee shall be $10 per vehicle space. The parking fee for Fischer Park is $5 for cars and recreational vehicles. These parks close at dusk and all vehicles must leave by that time.
Parking Permits for Locals
Cocoa Beach residents and property owners can purchase an annual parking
permit for $10 per vehicle to be permanently affixed to the designated vehicle.
The permit is good for the entire calendar year. Permits allow the vehicle to be
parked at any metered parking space without the necessity to put money in the
meter. Non-Cocoa Beach Residents can purchase the annual permit for $60.
Permits can be purchased at City Hall at the cashier's window in the lobby during normal city business hours. You must bring proof of your residency (a current utility bill, tax bill or other such current proof) and the current vehicle registration.
