STREETLIGHT OUTAGE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?

Florida Power & Light (FPL) is responsible for maintaining the streetlights in Cocoa Beach. If you have a streetlight outage in your neighborhood, here are three ways to get it fixed within 5 to 10 working days* (* pending no unusual circumstances existing at the light pole site):

·         The toll-free number for FPL Customer Service is: 1-800-226-3545. Follow the automated menu and you will then reach a “live person”. You will be asked to provide your name, address, phone number, and the location of the light pole to initiate a work order/request. 

o   If you provide the specific light pole number (which can be found on the light pole itself), it will help to expedite any repairs.

o   You can also get the pole number from the city map at following link: City Map of Streetlights Find your street – the streetlights including the pole numbers are indicated by the red dots on the map.

·         You can report an outage directly to FPL at its website www.fpl.com. “Click” on “power outage” and follow the instructions.

·         If contacting FPL directly doesn’t resolve the problem, the Cocoa Beach Public Works Department can assist you.  During office hours (Monday—Friday from 8am-5pm), you can call 868-3219 and provide the information. We will contact FPL to try to expedite the repair of the problem-light as soon as possible.  If calling after hours, please leave a voice message with your phone number and we will call you back the on the next work day.
