Space - This area of Florida is
known as the Space Coast and for good reason. It is here that the U.S.
Space Program began almost 50 years ago. It is still a core industry
today. If you time it right you can watch a space launch from the Beach!
Kennedy and Cape Canaveral Space Launch Centers are within excellent
viewing range just to
the north. Rocket and shuttle launches always attract locals as well as
visitors to watch the spectacular views of
day and night launches.

Attractions
- Seasoned central Florida visitors make Cocoa Beach their home base and
their side trips are to Orlando - just a one hour drive to the west.
After a day or two of hoofing around the theme parks, what better way to
relax than to come back to the relaxed atmosphere of our beach. In
addition to our beaches, popular local attractions also include the Brevard Zoo,
the Port of Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center.

Nature -
Cocoa Beach residents treasure the nature found around them. Our
sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. During the months
of May through September, Cocoa Beach enjoys turtle nesting season. Turtles
are protected ~ check out the
turtle etiquette.
Take a walk down Minutemen Causeway you will likely see manatee
lolling about in our canals. Or, spend a day in solitude on the pristine beach of the
Canaveral National Seashore. Anywhere along the ocean beach dolphins
frequently are found chasing a meal just beyond the waves.

Water - We're just minutes from Florida's
fastest growing port - Port Canaveral, the second largest cruise ship
port in the United States! There are restaurants along the water
at the Port for dining and cocktails. Perhaps you want to catch some fish?
You can go fishing off the Canaveral Inlet jetty at the Port. There are
also many charter boats which offer deep sea fishing adventures.
